Justin Randall

Justin Randall is an American documentary filmmaker, photojournalist, and writer based in Hokkaido, Japan. Through film, photography, and long-form journalism, he tells stories that explore the people, cultures, and landscapes often overlooked by mainstream media.

After moving to Japan in 2019, Justin has spent years documenting life beyond the country's major cities, focusing on rural communities, conservation, tourism, and the individuals shaping the future of regional Japan. His work is driven by a belief that the most compelling stories are found not in spectacle, but in authenticity.

His photography and writing have appeared in publications including The Japan Times, Nikkei Asia, Discovery Channel, and Voyapon, while his documentary and commercial work has been commissioned by government organizations, tourism boards, and international brands seeking meaningful visual storytelling.

Combining a journalist's curiosity with a filmmaker's eye, Justin manages every stage of production—from research and story development to cinematography, aerial filming, interviews, and post-production.
